Senior Scientist – Translational Pharmacology

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background and laboratory skills in immunology, regulatory T cell biology, and/or autoimmunity with experience developing novel therapeutic approaches using in vitro and in vivo models. Preferred experience includes knowledge of regulatory T cell biology and autoimmunity, CRO management, and designing focused preclinical in vivo studies that assess immunologic endpoints to support pipeline assets and programs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute effective and efficient studies to address critical program needs.
  • Oversee and manage external vendors to execute in vitro and in vivo studies that assess Treg function in models of autoimmunity.
  • Deliver sample analysis endpoints for preclinical studies aimed at building pharmacologic relationships between drug exposure, target engagement and activity of Cue Biopharma’s molecules.
  • Ensure appropriate study documentation, analyze and interpret data and clearly communicate results within the organization.
  • Author and review technical reports and summary documents for regulatory filings, scientific presentations and publications.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the translational pharmacology team in a matrixed fashion to achieve team goals and support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: B.Sc. with 10-12+ years of industry research experience, and a track record of supporting advancement of novel therapeutic modalities or M.Sc. with 8-10 years of industry research experience.
  • Preferred Requirements: Ph.D. in Immunology or related field with 5-8 years industry research experience.
  • Direct experience with immune regulation and Treg cell biology, mouse models of inflammation and/or autoimmunity, as well as cell-based assays to assess human Treg function.
  • Experience with B cell biology and/or therapeutic targeting in the context of autoimmunity is a plus.
  • Scientifically rigorous with significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with external CROs, consultants and collaborators.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and simultaneously deliver against timelines for multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated, team- and goal-oriented scientist with excellent oral and written communication skills.
